Reception pupils celebrate 100 days at St Catherine’s

It was party time, when pupils at St Catherine’s Catholic Primary in Newcastle celebrated their first 100 days of schooling.

The 24 Reception Class children marked the occasion with a host of fun activities – as well as hand-made chocolate treats.

“The children created party hats, made chocolate buns, and enjoyed a special music session with our music teachers, Abi and Hatti from Piccolo,” said Reception Class Teacher Melissa Calvert, who led the event with Class Nursery Nurse Maureen Nixon.

“We looked through photographs from the start of the year, and spent lots of time together playing and having fun,” she continued.

“We really enjoyed talking about all the wonderful activities we’ve shared, and reflecting on how much we’ve grown together as a class family.

“The highlight was eating the chocolate buns, of course!”

It was the first time the milestone event had taken place at St Catherine’s.

“Events like this help the children feel a strong sense of achievement,” added Ms Calvert. “Reaching 100 days at school allows them to recognise how much they have grown since they began.”
