There was an ‘eggstra special’ end to the term, when children at a Our Lady and St Anne’s Catholic Primary in Newcastle showcased their creative talents in an Easter Egg Competition.
All year groups were invited to take part in the contest on Wednesday 1 April, which challenged them to design and decorate boiled eggs at home to bring into school.
Among the tasty treats up for grabs were the first prize of an Easter Egg Hamper, the second prize of Easter Squish Mallows, and a third prize of Easter wind-up toys, while all runners up received bunny chocolates.
Headteacher Sam Henzell was tasked with choosing the winning entries.
“The whole school were invited to take part in the competition,” said Ruth Robson, Administrative Assistant at the school.
“We had 60 entries and were absolutely delighted by the creativity, effort, and imagination shown in all the entries – it truly made the event extra special.
“Mrs Henzell had a very difficult task judging the competition, as the standard was incredibly high, and each design was unique in its own way.”
